Role
Architect, Designer

Description
Designing and conceptualizing new physical spaces to revitalize public engagement with the performing arts and deepen cultural appreciation. This initiative encompasses the  architectural design  for new amphitheaters, temporary galleries, and essential administrative/services areas. Through a comprehensive experiential design approach, the objective is to create immersive and meaningful experiences that go beyond traditional perceptions of performance. By crafting dedicated platforms for diverse artistic intersections, the project aims to enhance public understanding and participation in the arts.

Takeaway
This project was a comprehensive lesson in the power of architectural design as a medium for crafting public experience and cultural revitalization. My most significant takeaway was the importance of an experiential design approach, where the physical structure is not merely a container but an active participant in deepening public engagement with the arts.

I learned how to translate the principles of deconstructivism and fluidity, inspired by architects like Frank Gehry, into a functional yet visually dynamic space. This challenged me to think beyond traditional forms and instead focus on how sculpted, symbolic architecture can create a sense of visual movement and become a landmark in its own right.

Design Inspiration: Gehry's Influence

  • Deconstructivism and Fluidity
Works like the "Walt Disney Concert Hall" showcase Gehry's signature use of sculpted forms, metallic finishes, and a sense of visual movement.

  • Attention-Grabbing Architecture
Gehry's buildings are landmarks. This project aims not only to be functional, but become a symbol of art's revitalization in Tehran.

  • "The Broad" as Precedent
This museum's porous facade and focus on natural light integration could have informed your choices regarding public access and creating inviting gallery spaces.
